Hiding Your Affiliate Link

Hiding your affiliate link is important when promoting your product. Why? For some reason studies have shown that people are less likely to click on your link unless it looks like a site... There are many possible reasons for this, they may think it have a virus etc. but there are also many ways you can "cloak" it.

One way which shows to work best is buying a domain name from godaddy.com and forwarding it to your affiliate link.

One of my affiliate products that i sell is a fly fishing eBook.
I write articles and keep my link at the end of the article to drive traffic to the site. The domain name I bought is http://www.flyfishing-for-beginners.com and if you click on it it will redirect you to the sales page of the eBook with my clickbank id in it. (that's how they know if the sale came from traffic I directed resulting in me getting commission)

Another way to cloak your affiliate link is to purchase cloaking software but your better off to buy the domain name and its a lot cheaper.

If your going to be promoting the product on twitter then the best thing to do is find a url shortening website and use that (usually free).

So from now on when directing traffic always hide your affiliate link and you'll definitely see a difference.

All the best,
Chris
